Active Boric acid (3%)
Boric acid has a long-standing history in traditional medicine for its antiseptic, antifungal and antibacterial properties. In the last 20-30 years, its benefits for clarifying intimate area have been scientifically confirmed.
Lactic acid
Lactic acid is a natural byproduct of beneficial Lactobacillus bacteria and it functions as a powerful postbiotic. In addition to its antimicrobial properties, it helps create a balanced acidic pH environment that is inhospitable to many microbes.
EDTA
EDTA is frequently cited in scientific literature for its synergistic role alongside boric acid. By enhancing boric acid’s antimicrobial activity and improving its efficacy against bacterial and fungal biofilms, EDTA significantly contributes to the overall antimicrobial potential of the formulation.
Microbiome friendly and pH balanced
The skin in the intimate area hosts its own unique microflora, shaped by a distinct environment and pH balance. B-clear cream respects this delicate ecosystem with the formulation that is designed to ensure the beneficial bacteria of the intimate microbiome is not disrupted.
Preservative free formulation
Preservatives are essential in cream formulations, but many can disrupt and even directly attack the skin’s natural microbiome. B-clear cream formulation does not contain a preservative, as boric acid is powerful enough to keep the cream clear from any microbiological contamination and gentle enough not to affect beneficial microbiome.
Microbiologist tested
B-clear cream has been rigorously tested for microbiological contamination including aerobic bacteria, yeast, mould, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas spp. and underwent a microbiological challenge test against Escherichia coli and Candida albicans.
Removable precision nozzle
The removable, washable precision nozzle is designed for convenient and hygienic application to the intimate area.

The vaginal microbiome
The vaginal microbiome varies both between individuals and ethnic groups.
Healthy
-
Lactobacillus crispatus
present in vaginas of 65% of women universally (2). It sticks well to vaginal walls and creates stable colonies. It has a high level of lactic acid production. Healthy vagina has a pH value of 3.8-4.5.
-
Lactobacillus gasseri
present in vaginas in more than 40% of women universally (2) and is second in command healthy population in the vagina creating stable colonies.
-
Lactobacillus jensenii
is another frequently detected good bacteria in a healthy vagina. This Lactobacillus species is not on the list of permitted ingredients for use in medical products in Australia.
Pathogen / Transitional
-
Lactobacillus iners
is associated with both normal and abnormal microflora. It either adapts well to the conditions associated with BV (like increased pH) or it is more resistant to certain factors that diminish other Lactobacillus species. It has been described by scientists as a ‘transitional’ species, which means its dominance may indicate that vaginal microbiome is on a way to get disrupted and imbalanced.
-
Gardnerella vaginalis
is a pathogenic bacteria. The rise of its colonies indicates that the balance in the vaginal microbiome is disrupted and unstable. The overgrowth and dominance of this bacteria is one of the main signs of bacterial vaginosis or BV.
-
Candida albicans
is a fungus present in the vaginal microbiome in small quantities. Its overgrowth causes vaginal yeast infections.
-
The vaginal microbiome also contains non-lactobacillus bacterial species. Their dominance may be normal in some ethnic groups, but could also be a sign of an unhealthy vaginal microbiome (2).
FAQ
Can I use b-clear cream when pregnant?
Do not use if pregnant or nursing
Can I use contraceptives with b-clear cream?
Some contraceptives and vaginally applied products can be applied in the same time with b-clear cream. We do not recommend using condoms as a contraceptive when using b-clear cream, as the cream can affect the integrity of the condom material.
I react to boric acid pessaries, what does b-clear cream contain?
It contains 150 mg of boric acid per 5 g dose. It does not contain SLS, SLES, ALS, parabens, benzoates, phenoxyethanol, phthalates, formaldehyde, propylene glycol, glycerol, mineral oils, alcohol, sulfates, isothiazolinones, sweeteners, fragrances, and colours.
Can I use b-clear cream alongside v-spot probiotic?
B-clear cream is formulated to respect and preserve the beneficial vaginal microbiome. For optimal results, we recommend applying b-clear and v-spot probiotic at separate times, ideally spaced 12 hours apart, such as one in the morning and the other in the evening, to allow each product to perform without interference.
